Documenti d’amore – Rakkauden lait – the concert will feature medieval european music, Italian Ars Nova with French twist.
“Sweet new style,” il dolce stil nuovo, is an apt term for the poetry and music style that emerged in the first half of the 14th century in Northern Italy. During this time, both literature and music saw the development of new forms of expression and new structures. The Italian language became the main language of poetry, and the development of musical notation inspired composers to experiment with new kinds of polyphony and rhythms. This sweet new style can be heard in the Documenti d’amore concert.
