In shadow of a greene oke tree
The concert of the viola da gamba ensemble Eloisa Consort will feature polyphonic and sonorous Renaissance music by composers who were influential in London and worked at the English court. We will immerse ourselves in the polyphony of the late Renaissance, where melodies converse like the leaves of a tree filtering the light of a summer day into shadows. The playful themes are reflected in the sad, touching and calming tones of the viola da gamba. The program is inspired by hope, hopelessness, death and above all life, as well as the wonderful, sprawling vitality of music.
