Kristina Laine & Albert Laine:
Jumi-Jami

Jumi-Jami is an audiovisual performance, where the act of massaging stiff muscles creates sonic art.

Our bodies are versatile, fine-tuned systems that allow us to move and communicate in the world around us. Many of us do sedentary work on computers and mobile devices, getting suspended in set positions and limited trajectories. As a result, our muscles stiffen and become rigid. Jumi-Jami brings these subtle bodily sounds and inaudible emotions to the forefront, through technological amplification and performance art.

Jumi-Jami takes a playful approach to pain, as the human body becomes an instrument and the “jammed” muscles relax during the performance -a pain relieving jam!

The performance will happen in Forum Box on Friday 25 April at 6pm. Free admission!
