Red Rose Cinema hosts an open projector event at Forum Box on Wednesday 21st of October.
The theme of the event is lo-fi dreams. Red Rose Cinema invites everyone to a DIY short film screening that celebrates the aesthetics and ethos of lo-fi. ’Low-fidelity’ is a production quality in which elements that usually are regarded as imperfections – in the context of image, sound recording or performance – , are a deliberate stylistic choice. So “low quality, bad quality” – says who? Cracks on the surface are a way for the heart and soul to shine through.
In the event, various filmmakers present their short film work and discuss it with the audience. Come and join us!
The event is held in collaboration with AV-Arkki, the Centre for Finnish Media Art. AV-Arkki plays a unique role in distributing and promoting media art and building professional networks. The evening opens with a film from AV-Arkki’s archive. The event is supported by the City of Helsinki.
