The Most Beautiful Baroque Christmas Songs
Jussi Salonen, tenor
Ensemble Nylandia
The Most Beautiful Baroque Christmas Songs evening includes Christmas carols from Europe of the 16th-18th centuries played on period instruments – not forgetting community singing. Many of the Christmas carols that we Finns love originate from the Baroque era. For example, Heinillä härkien kaukalon is from Baroque France, and Enkeli taivaan from Martin Luther. In the concert we will hear and sing together these familiar and beloved songs in the Baroque style.
