Hinni Huttunen:

According to a survey carried out by Statistics Finland in 2018, the most common profession for women in Finland in 2016 was in the industry of human health and social work activities. The average duration for a workday for a person working within this industry is 8 hours with a separate break.

 

The video performance Homage for women’s work in three acts (4 hours, 30 minutes and 4 hours) by Hinni Huttunen is an act of homage for these women working in the human health and social work activities and to her grandmother who worked as a deaconess and a nurse.

 

Hinni Huttunen (b. 1990) is a contemporary artist working with video and photography. In her artistic practice she feels passionate about portraiture, internet, controlled glitter and smashing bodily norms. In 2018 she graduated as Master of Fine Art from the Royal Institute of Art, Stockholm.
