Linnéa Sundfær Casserly:
Alone

A solo concert for recorder and voice

Containing repertoire that was supposed to be performed at MicroFest Prague in April 2020 (before Corona decided to make a mess out of everything), this concert will explore the limits of my instruments, my voice and very possibly also my sanity (or at least the sanity of my husband, who has home office and is forced to listen to me preparing this programme). In addition to the music, the audience will get a visual feast, being seated inbetween Pekka Pitkänen’s bronze sculptures from the current exhibition in Forum Box.

Framing the concert will be the live world premiere of Jonas Marti’s piece “Alone” – a voice and recorder duet written for one performer and Karlheinz Stockhausen’s “In Freundschaft” – a piece combining and eventually merging two contrasting themes into one energetic explosion of sound. The rest of the repertoire will consist of solo pieces for recorder and/or voice including composers like Edward Caine, Oliver Knussen, Antonis Rouvelas and more. What all the pieces have in common, except being so challenging that I sometimes wonder why I decided to put them all in the same concert, is that they all explore the feeling of being completely alone and somehow create some meaning in the alone-ness.

Because of safety distancing between seats, there will be space for only 30 people in the audience. If you wish to be guaranteed a seat, email me in advance on and I will put you on the list. Otherwise, just show up at the door.

As many people have suffered financial losses due to the Corona crisis, the concert is free of charge. However, there will be a chance to make a donation for those who wish to do so.

This concert is supported by the Taike foundation.
